Solar Commons

Solar Commons is solar energy community ownership model that is being implemented throughout the U.S. The first U.S. Solar Commons was connected with a solar array placed on the roof of Wright Elementary in Tucson, AZ. An interactive game was created to introduce the idea of commons to the school children. In the game, the players take turns selecting cards that contain scenarios about cooperating with nature, neighbours, and community. By placing tiles, the players build their own neighbourhoods while learning about social resiliency, environmental responsibility, and sharing the sun's commonwealth. The mural was painted on the school's playground to tie in themes of the Solar Commons game.
